Terms and Conditions of entry for QTCU Staff Room for Improvement

  1. Entry into this promotion is deemed acceptance of these Conditions of Entry by each entrant.

  2. Entry into the promotion is open to Queensland Primary and Secondary Schools listed on the Education Queensland’s website and schools with a current registered QTCU school contact.  The winning school will also have to agree to these Terms and Conditions, if they are to receive the prize.  If a school receives the most votes, and then does not agree to the Terms and Conditions, the prize will be offered to the school that has the next highest number of votes until the Terms and Conditions are agreed.

  3. The promotion commences at 8:30am on 29/10/2009 and closes at 4.00pm on 20/11/2009 (“Promotional Period”). The winner will be announced on 27/11/2009 at QTCU, 454 St Paul’s Terrace, Fortitude Valley QLD 4006.  The winning school will be notified by phone and their name will be published in The Courier Mail on Saturday 28/11/2009.  All reasonable steps to notify the winner of the results of the draw will be taken by the Promoter.  QTCU’s decision on all matters relating to the prize draw is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

  4. The school with the most number of votes after being weighted against the number of students at the school will win a staff room makeover up to the value of $30,000. This prize is not transferable, refundable or redeemable for cash or other goods or services. Only one staffroom at the winning school will receive a makeover.

  5. To vote, persons must visit www.staffroomforimprovement.com.au, select the school they wish to vote for and provide the required information. Only one entry per valid email address will be permitted.

  6. Votes must be validated by actioning the link sent to the voters email address after the vote has been cast.

  7. The maximum cost of the prize will not exceed $30,000 and is inclusive of travel costs, labour, and goods purchased to fit out the room. The total amount spent will be at the discretion of QTCU.

  8. The winning school must claim the prize within three (3) months from the date of notification in The Courier Mail otherwise the prize is forfeited.

  9. The staffroom makeover will take place during the January 2010 school holidays, subject to the availability of trade personnel and school access. The winner must, authorise a nominated person to be the winner’s representative for the purposes of liaising with the Promoter in relation to conducting the makeover.  The nominated person will be the primary contact point for the winner and will bind the winner in relation to any activities, steps or omissions taken in relation to the makeover. The nominated person must provide the Promoter with a written proposal for the makeover as soon as is reasonably practicable after the prize draw. Following receipt of the proposal, the Promoter will consider the proposal and discuss the implementation of the makeover with the nominated person and try to agree on any changes required. The Promoter has the discretion to accept, reject or modify the proposal and implement the makeover using its own contractor/s if preferred.  The winner acknowledges that this competition is being carried out for promotional purposes and such, wants to ensure that a makeover of an appropriate standard is carried out.  The Promoter is not responsible for faulty or defective workmanship, goods, services and/or appliances and the Promoter’s liability in relation to this promotion is limited to $30,000 only.

  10. It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion.

  11. Entrants consent to the Promoter using the entrant's name, image and/or voice in the event they are a winner (including photograph, film and/or recording of the same) in any media for an unlimited period of time without remuneration or compensation for the purpose of promoting, publicising or marketing this promotion (including any outcome), and promoting any products and services by the Promoter. The winner agrees to participate in all reasonable promotional activities in relation to the Promotion as requested by the Promoter.
